In May, Paxton, 16 years old, had surgery to have part of a tumor removed from his brain stem. Before that, he was a healthy, athletic boy who worked out every day. We then found out the prognosis was midline diffuse glioma. He has had 30 rounds of radiation to his brain stem. Between brain surgery and radiation, he has numbness in his hands and feet, can’t swallow very well, so he has a feeding tube, and double vision. We have since found out he has new growth in a new area. He is now being treated at the Karlfeldt Center in Boise, ID. Where they find the underlying cause of cancer and work to kill cancer stem cells.
